Frankfurt – Gelest Inc., the Morrisville, Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of silicones and metal-organic compounds, has expanded its European presence through acquisition of a warehouse and logistics centre in Frankfurt's Industriepark Griesheim, Rubber & Plastics News reports the company as having said.
In a news release, Gelest said it acquired the new facility in response to increased demands for its silanes and metal-organics in the pharmaceutical and diagnostic markets. The purchase will also expand opportunities in Europe for Gelest's silicone products in the speciality coatings and instrumentation markets, it said.
The acquisition will allow Gelest for the first time to offer research quantities of its speciality materials directly to European customers, it said.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
