Aircraft tire app from Michelin
ERJ staff report (BC)
Greenville, South Carolina – Michelin Aircraft Tire has introduced a mobile telephony application for aircraft mechanics, private pilots, airlines, military operators and others who have an interest in or use aircraft tires.
The app accesses the Michelin Aircraft Tire Care & Service Manual, a reference guide to maintaining aircraft tires, maximising tire life and reducing total cost of ownership. Users will find information specific to Michelin’s aircraft tires and tubes, with a fitment guide for selecting the correct Michelin products approved for each airframe. A tire wear guide provides photographs and descriptions of the commonest wear conditions.
Karl Remec, director of marketing for Michelin Aircraft Tire said: “We recognise that most aircraft service professionals conduct their work in the field, where information critical to an aircraft’s performance or safety might be difficult to access. This new tool puts all the information they would need in the palm of their hand.”
The app is available free of charge for tablet and mobile phones at the Apple store and Google store.
