Carter Bros. in administration-Update
By Patrick Raleigh ERJ On-line news editor
Manchester, UK-Financially stricken rubber machinery firm Carter Brothers (Rochdale) Ltd, has now laid off virtually all of its employees, a spokeswoman for administrators BDO Stoy Hayward said 19 Dec. Just a few staff remain to assist the administrators, who are currently seeking a buyer for the business, she explained.
When it went into administration on 8 Dec, the spokeswoman said the Rochdale-based firm employed 55-not 70 as BDO has previously indicated. Carter Bros. is being offered for sale as a £1.5-million ($2.7 million) turnover company, she added. For ERJ's Machinery survey published in March this year, the firm listed its annual sales at $8 million.
