EU car markets grow – apart from UK
Brussels – Demand for new passenger cars in the EU rose to 1,216,702 units in November, up 5.9% compared to the same month in 2016.
Major European markets all posted strong growth – apart from the UK, which posted a decline for the eighth consecutive month.
Spain and France led the market with 12.4% and 10.3% growth, followed by Germany at 9.4% and Italy at 6.8%.
The UK, on the other hand, registered a sharp decline of 11.2% in November.
Over the first 11 months, the EU car market grew 4.1% overall, despite a 5.0% decline in the UK.
