Epe, The Netherlands – VMI Group has appointed Dr Edward Holweg as its new chief operating officer with effect from 1 April. He succeeds Guido Roncken, who has "decided to pursue other endeavors," after holding the COO position for over 10 years.
As COO, Holweg will be a member of the global executive board of VMI Group and have responsibility for its operations globally.
Holweg has held several senior positions in the industrial sector as well as being part-time professor of intelligent automotive systems at Delft University. He holds a PhD in electrical engineering from Delft University of Technology,
The new COO “will build on the legacy of Guido Roncken, who for the last 10 years has been the major driver in facilitating the growth of the company by optimizing VMI’s global manufacturing processes,” said a VMI statement.
