Maastricht, The Netherlands – For the third time in just over three months, synthetic rubber manufacturer Arlanxeo has announced global price rises for its chloroprene rubber sold under the brand name Baypren.
In Europe, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Asia, the price adjustment per tonne for CR “is up to €700 and will be effective no later than 1 March,” Arlanxeo said 24 Feb.
In North America Arlanxeo USA LLC is going to increase prices from 22 March up to $770 per tonne, added the Lanxesss-Saudi Aramco rubber JV
The increases follow two earlier rounds in November 2016 and January this year. As then, Maastricht-based Arlanxeo linked the latesthikes to “the overall market- and cost developments of the past months.”
Arlanxeo distributes CR under the brand name Baypren. CR products are used in applications like cable sheathings, hoses, belts and air springs as well as adhesives.
The company has production capacity of 60 kilotonnes per annum for the polymer.
