Avon appoints new CEO as Rennie departs
Melksham, UK - Avon Rubber’s board has appointed Paul McDonald as “group chief executive” following the unexpected departure of former CEO Rob Rennie on 15 Feb.
In a statement on the same day, Avon said McDonald succeeded Rennie “who stepped down from the board with immediate effect and left the group to pursue other interests.”
Rennie joined Avon Rubber as CEO in December 2015, having before held senior management roles at Invensys plc.
Prior to his appointment, McDonald was divisional managing director of Avon's Dairy division and a member of the group executive management team.
He joined the Avon Rubber in 2003 and spent the early part of his career at Avon in commercial and operational roles. This included responsibility for all UK operations and the European protection & defence and dairy business units.
Also, Avon said that the process to appoint a permanent group finance director was underway and that it would be an “early priority” for the new chief executive.
McDonald “has a proven track record of commercial and operational success within Avon and has valuable knowledge and experience of the group's markets and operations,” said chairman David Evans.
