sRovereto, Italy – Marangoni Retreading Systems has increased its prices in Europe as a result of pressure from rising raw materials costs.
The company announced 13 Feb that it would adjust sales price for rubber materials used to retread tires in all European countries by between 4% and 8%, depending on the product category.
This, it said, will be applied to markets invoiced in Euros, while the sales-price percentage increase will be different in other currencies. The price adjustment will be effective in February.
According to Marangoni, the price-rise reflects the cost of raw materials, increase in demand for the materials and a reduction in their supply.
In particular, said the company, price of polymers and particularly natural rubber, “make this corrective intervention necessary after a few months of constant growth.”
The price-increase follows an extended period (2012-2015) where raw materials and tire prices decreased in parallel and regularly.
Looking ahead, the company said forecasts suggested further raw materials price growth within the next quarter, and which could lead to further price hikes, possibly in “the following month.”
