Detroit, Michigan – Group Michelin's latest top-of-the-line high-performance tire, the Pilot Sport 4S, will make its North American debut this week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Launched in Europe in early 2016, the Pilot Sport S4 is described as the successor to the Pilot Super Sport, which debuted in 2011.
The French tire maker said CEO Jean Dominique-Senard will be on hand at the NAIAS to support the launch of the tire, which Michelin claims outperforms its predecessor in nearly every performance category.
Michelin is the exclusive tire sponsor of the NAIAS for the 29th consecutive year. The show opens to the public 14-22 Jan.
At its stand on the show floor, Michelin will feature a pair of Porsche 911s restored and reimagined by Singer Vehicle Design of Los Angeles for international clients.
Both restored 911s will be on public display for the first time, and include Ed Pink-developed 4-liter flat-six engines, carbon fiber bodywork, a host of bespoke features and tires from the Michelin Pilot family.
