Munich, Germany – Pyrolyx AG and Seattle-based Reklaim, Inc. have formed a joint venture for the recovery of carbon black from end of life tires in North America.
Pyrolyx USA Inc. is 81% owned by Pyrolyx AG and will use Pyrolyx AG’s manufacturing process at new facilities across North America. Reklaim’s top management team will run Pyrolyx USA.
No further details on the location of the facilities or investment size were given.
Pyrolyx manufacturers recovered carbon black (rCB) from post-consumer rubber and tires. The rCB is claimed to offer a cost-effective, sustainable alternative to traditional carbon black for a variety of plastics and rubber applications, including rubber compounds for tires.
