Hyderabad, India – The fluoroelastomers market is pegged to grow at CAGR of 4.0% during 2016 and 2021, according to a recent report by Indian research group IndustryArC.
The research, published on 28 Dec, said synthetic rubber would continue to grow in the automotive and aerospace industry thanks to its “light weight feature and other excellent properties.”
According to the research, rising need to control CO2 emissions; “immense growth” of the automotive and aerospace industry; and fluoroelastomers' unique properties compared to conventional rubber; are the driving forces behind the increase in demand for the materials.
Fluoroelastomers belong to an advanced class of materials which show high chemical resistance, temperature resistance, vibration isolation and other designing parameters.
The materials are used in seals in automotive drive-trains, fuel injection, cooling and lubrication systems.
Apart from automotive these materials are also being used for manufacturing oil seals for industrial machinery due to their ability to withstand harsh or chemically reactive environment.
