Bluestar Silicones moves production site in Brazil
Joinville, Brazil – Bluestar Silicones has moved its production facilities from Santo André, Sao Paulo, to Joinville, Santa Catarina in Brazil, according to its parent company China National Bluestar Group.
The unit, said the company statement on 22 Sept, started operation mid-September at the Perini Business Park.
With an area of 8,000 sqm, the construction of the new headquarters cost R$40 million (€11 million) and has created about 40 direct and indirect jobs.
According to the company, services, logistics, and transport infrastructure; as well as skilled labour were the main reasons behind the move.
A member of Elkem AS, Norway, Bluestar Silicones is headquartered in Lyon, France.
The company is a supplier to markets such as the self-adhesive, construction, automotive and healthcare.
Bluestar Silicones expects the new production unit, with its logistics platform, to offer efficiency and quick delivery of products coming from other subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, and North America.
"Even in this challenging environment, we trust the company and the region, and hope to resume rapid growth in the coming years,” said CEO Lucas Freire.
