Prague – Gumotex produces automotive plastic parts such as air vents (pictured), head up displays, dashboard parts, armrests reinforcements, cupholders, light housings, fuel tank covers and caps on washers.
In the first half of 2016, Czech producer Gumotex a.s. reported sales revenues of about CZK 1.234bn (€45.7m) which represented 105% of its plan for the first six months of this year, reports local news agency ?eská informa?ní agentura (CIA News).
Currently, Gumotex exports between 65% and 70% of its output, with the main foreign markets for the company’s products comprising the US and various EU member states, according to data from the Czech manufacturer. From January to June 2016, Gumotex managed to export some CZK 860m (€31.8m) worth of output.
Gumotex’s product portfolio includes a wide range of car parts, such as EPP and rubber components, sun visors made of semi-rigid PU foam, handgrips made from integral PU foam, as well as interior parts made from PU foam and energy-absorbing PU foam. In addition to this, the Czech manufacturer makes inflatable boats and bed mattresses.
The company’s facilities are fitted with machines supplied by KraussMaffei Berstorff and Tempos, and they are ISO 9001, TS 16949 and ISO 14001 certified.
Set up in 1950, Gumotex is currently operated by a workforce of about 1,400 employees, according to figures released by the producer. Over the past years, the Czech company has carried out a number of projects to modernise and raise its output capacity with the use of funds from the EU.
