Liaoning, China – Goodyear is to add 3 million annual capacity for passenger car tires at its Dalian, Liaoning plant located in the Pulandian Gulf Industrial Zone.
“This will help enable the company to meet long-term demand growth for its high-value-added tires in China and other Asia Pacific markets,” said the company.
Goodyear began construction on the plant in 2009 after it outgrew its previous China manufacturing plant in the city. The factory was completed in 2011 and officially opened in 2012 following a complete relocation to the new facility.
The plant currently has 10 million annual capacity for passenger car tires and 500,000 capacity for truck tires, with an ongoing 2.08 million per year passenger car tire project expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
