Yancheng, China – Continental AG, in cooperation with China Automotive Technology & Research (CATARC), officially opened a new test centre in Yancheng on 8 July.
In a statement on 11 July, Continental said that the centre would mainly support the testing and validation of its safety products and systems, including electronic and hydraulic brake systems and tires.
“The opening of the test centre reflects Continental’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market,” said Frank Jourdan, member of the executive board of Continental AG and president of its Chassis & Safety Division.
“It is our goal to meet local market demands, as well as help to enhance China’s road safety consciousness,” he added, referring to a recent road safety policy by China dubbed “vision zero”.
CATARC, a technical administration body in the car industry, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Continental in January to increase cooperation.
