Dubai, UAE – Michelin has launched its Pilot Sport4 tires for the Middle East and African markets, through its distribution partners, the French tire-maker announced on 3 May.
The new high-performance tire, said Michelin, has been developed in partnership with “some of the world's most demanding car manufacturers.”
“Middle East and Africa play an important part in the Michelin group's global growth story,” said Pierre Granzotto, general manager for passenger cars and vice president for Michelin AIM (Africa, India & Middle East).
Michelin unveiled Pilot Sport 4 globally in January, describing it a “game-changer” within high-performance tires.
"The technological innovations in the ultra-responsive tread of the new tire come from Michelin's longstanding experience in motor racing, especially Formula E,” added Granzotto.
A new feature, "dynamic response" technology, consists of a belt with hybrid aramid and nylon reinforcement to improve directional control.
The tire, according to Michelin, has high density, extreme tension-resistant and is particularly lightweight.
The asymmetric design, said Michelin, allows for good handling and safety while minimising audible noise for a silent performance.
The Pilot Sport 4 is currently available in 17 sizes, mainly in 17" and 18", in the Middle East and Africa.
