Brussels – The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA) has welcomed the launch of a new European initiative in the area of tire-label market surveillance.
The MSTyr15 campaign will last until the tart of 2018 and involves market surveillance authorities of 13 EU member states and Turkey. It will involve liaison with all EU 28 market surveillance authorities through the TyresADCO.
The scheme is being led by a body called Prosafe, which has been tasked by the European Commission to coordinate and manage the joint market surveillance activities.
"ETRMA believes that this action is key to establish a level playing field in Europe and for the benefit of the consumers as it combines compliance controls on both safety and energy labelling requirements" said Fazilet Cinaralp, secretary general of the ETRMA.
