Peter Taylor stepping down as head of ITMA
London –Peter Taylor, OBE, is stepping down from his role as director of the UK-based Imported Tyre Manufacturers’ Association at the end of February.
While he was stepping down from ITMA after 35 years, Taylor emphasised that he would continue with his roles elsewhere in the rubber industry.
As well as being director of the ITMA, Taylor is the founder and secretary general of the Tyre Recovery Association and a member of the Used Tyre Working Group since its inception. In 2009, he was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for services to the tire Industry.
Taylor is also a member of the advisory panel for the ERJ-organised Future Tire Conference in Essen, Germany in May. He will also be chairing a discussion panel surrounding tire recovery and circular economy at the conference.
The ITMA was established in the late 1970s when imported tires first started to make a significant impact on the UK tire market. It is the only trade association in Europe to exclusively represent the interests of non-EU based tire manufacturers.
The association now represents some 20 tire manufacturers and over 35 brands.
