Vienna – Semperit Group has posted an increase in sales and profits in the first three quarters of 2015, with revenue rising 5.5 percent to €692.1 million.
In its third quarter results published on 17 Nov, the Vienna-based company also said its earnings after tax increased by 7.9 percent to €40.1 million compared to €37.1 million for the same period in 2014.
According to Semperit, both industrial and medical sectors grew in the first three quarters of the year as a results of capacity expansion.
“The positive business development is the result of our consistent activities in the past months,” said CEO Thomas Fahnemann.
“Our capacity expansion, an increased global presence and the rapid integration of profile manufacturer Leeser are showing effect,” he added.
Explaining the growth in the industrial sector despite the weak markets, Sepmerit said the Semperflex industrial hoses’ section had seen an “outstanding production and sales performance” which were the basis for revenue growth.
According to the company, Semperit’s new production capacities are at full use at its large facilities in Odry, Czech Republic.
In the belting segment, Sempertrans, the expansion into new markets and segments led to significant increases in revenue and earnings, the firm saidin a statement.
The construction materials segment, Semperform, also saw a double-digit growth, said Semperit, thanks to the full integration of profile manufacturer Leeser, as well as the beginning recovery of the handrail business in China.
Revenue of the Industrial Sector rose by 8.5 percent to €395.5 million in the first three quarters of 2015.
