Cabot, Evonik among Michelin supplier award winners

Clermont-Ferrand, France – Michelin has awarded six suppliers for their “outstanding” goods and services, the French tire maker has reported.
In a ceremony held on 17 Sept, and attended by Michelin’s CEO Partner Jean-Dominique Senard, the six winning businesses were presented with their respective prizes.
Three suppliers received “quality awards” in recognition of their “exceptional contribution” to the group’s standards.
The winning companies were:
General Quimica - Repsol subsidiary, specialising in the marketing of chemical products and derivatives, came first in the ‘raw materials and energy’ category.
Herbert - German manufacturer which provides moulds to the tire industry, came first in the ‘manufacturing purchases’ category.
Echemar - Spain-based transport company, won the ‘services’ category.
Cabot - The Innovation Award went to Cabot, which Michelin said had helped it achieve “breakthrough technological innovations”.
Evonik - The Michelin performance and social responsibility award was presented to Evonik, the German producer of silica, in recognition of its commitment to sustainable development.
Eiffage - The Special Award was presented to Eiffage, a European construction company which built the group’s RDI Campus.
