London – Phoenix Compounding Technology, part of ContiTech AG, will be opening a new rubber compounding plant at its site in China in early July, the company has announced.
“Phoenix Compounding has set up compounding capacity in Changshu, China. A new compounding plant will go into operation there in July 2015,” said the company statement.
ERJ has learnt that the plant is to be opened on 3 July in the presence of ContiTech CEO Hans-Jürgen Duensing and ContiTech head of business unit compounding, Peter Scholtissek.
ContiTech has a plant for hoses, mounts and air springs in Changshu with about 800 workers and the rubber is expected to feed that operation.
Phoenix Compounding also has three European sites: in Hamburg and Waltershausen in Germany and Nyiregyhaza in Hungary, with a total compounding capacity of 150 kilotonnes per year.
