Brussels – Demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU increased for the third consecutive month in March 2015, posting a growth of 20.7 percent – the highest monthly growth since December 2013.
With a total of 223,749 units sold, the growth was sustained across all segments of commercial vehicles, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).
Spain, it said, posted the highest growth at 67.6 percent, followed by the UK with 25.6 percent and Germany with 13.1 percent. France and Italy also posted double-digit growths.
In the first quarter of 2015, the EU market expanded by 13.3 percent, totalling 502,210 commercial vehicles with Spain, UK and Germany as the top contributors. France was the only major market to record a decline of half a percent.
