Continental names executive vice president North America

Allentown, Pennsylvania — Continental AG has named James Bayley vice president and general manager of commercial vehicles and aftermarket in North America, succeeding Jerry Gabbard who is retiring after more than seven year at the post.
Bayley previously was director of Fiat Chrysler’s customer centre, instrumentation & driver HMI business unit within the company’s interior division.
In his new position, he will be responsible for the Conti’s strategic development and overall executive management for its Commercial Vehicles, Specialty Vehicles, Aftermarket, Transportation Technologies, and Original Equipment Services business segments, Continental said. He also will oversee the design engineering, customer support, and focus factory resources at Continental’s manufacturing facility in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The CVAM business unit markets Continental, VDO, ATE and Barum brands and offers electronic products, systems and services for commercial and specialty vehicles, products for the aftermarket and spare parts for original equipment services.
