New York – Corning Inc. is seeking to sell its share in its Dow Corning its silicones joint venture with Dow Chemical Co., according to a recent Bloomberg report.
The report cited comments made by Andrew Liveris, chairman and CEO of Dow Chemical in a presentation to investors. The chemicals boss also reportedly indicated his company’s interest in taking over the venture.
However, subsequent comments from spokespeople for both JV partners, in the Bloomberg report, downplayed the likelihood of a near-term change of ownership at Dow Corning.
