Trelleborg/Vibracoustic expands China plant
Darmstadt, Germany —Trelleborg/Vibracoustic has completed an expansion at its production plant in Yantai, China, which will ultimately double its production capacity.
The anti-vibration product maker doubled the size of its manufacturing, assembly, and research and development facility to more than 172,000 square feet.
It also added machinery at the site. Cost of the project was estimated at about $31 million (€24.8 million).
Workers at the site, which employs about 380, previously made produced chassis mounts and commercial vehicle air springs. They will now also make engine mounts and torsional vibration dampers for local and global original equipment manufacturers and tier 1 suppliers.
