DuPont increasing elastomer capacity
ERJ staff report (PR)
Wilmington, Delaware – DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers is investing $100 million to increase production capacity of its ethylene copolymers assets at its Texas manufacturing facilities, the company announced 16 Sept.
To meet growing market demand, DuPont is planning a series of projects to be completed over the next three to four years.
Over a third of the investment is expected to be installed by the end of 2015, according to DuPont. The balance of the investment, it said, is expected to be completed over the following 3 years.
The aim is to support growing demand for resins including various ethylene copolymer and ionomer resin, including Vamac ethylene acrylic elastomers, said DuPont.
“Market demand for these products is growing,” said William Harvey, president, DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers, pointing to applications in the packaging, automotive, infrastructure and construction industries.
