ERJ staff report (TP)
Hanover, Germany – ContiTech has improved temperature resistance and flexibility on its Purple Snake hose for the brewing, distilling and soft drinks industries – and added a new marking system.
The hose has undergone “extended validation testing” and “is now going into series production. At the same time, production of the previous generation will be discontinued”.
The product is also the first hose delivered with ContiTech's new marking system.
In addition to its taste- and odour-neutral, inner lining, the hose will feature a blue spiral line continuously marked in white with the brand and manufacturer name. This replaces the axial wavy blue line on the red outer layer, which was typical of its predecessor.
The new marking has a QR (quick response) code for calling up more detailed information on construction and properties, cleaning and disinfection, and the specific hose's delivery programme.
ContiTech is gradually switching over all these hoses to the "informative" new marking whether there is a change in construction or not.
The hose has a non-porous and smooth CIIR (chloro isobutene isoprene rubber) lining and with its CR/SBR/NR-cover, is "resistant to ozone, weather, UV and abrasion".
