JSR Corporation employee dies in accident

Yokkaichi, Japan – A 19-year-old JSR Corporation employee died yesterday (23 July) in an accident at its Yokkaichi plant in Japan.
The company said the fatal accident occurred at around 12:25 pm at its synthetic rubber (emulsion polymerisation SBR) manufacturing facility in Mie Prefecture.
The employee was trapped by manufacturing equipment. He was rescued and immediately transferred to the hospital where he was later confirmed dead.
JSR said: “At the present time, the cause of the accident is not known and, therefore, JSR Corporation is fully cooperating with relevant authorities on the investigation and will implement appropriate measures in line with authorities' instructions.
“JSR Corporation is deeply saddened by this event and will work to make every effort to ensure safety in our operations.”
