Phillips Carbon Black to build $170m plant in Egypt?

London - Indian group RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group plans to build a $170 million carbon black plant in Alexandria, according to a report from Middle East news and information service Zawya.
Citing comments from a board member at the Egyptian Indian Polyester Co. (EIPC), the report said the facility at Borg El Arab, Alexandria would have an initial capacity of 140 kilotonnes per annum.
RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, owner of Phillips Carbon Black Ltd, has yet to respond to ERJ’s enquiries regarding this report.
