ERJ staff report (PR)
Blackburn, UK - Precision Polymer Engineering Ltd (PPE) is to start up a new manufacturing site for the production of elastomer O-rings and other sealing components in Brenham,Texas later this year.
The Blackburn-headquartered company held a ground-breaking ceremony for the 30,000sq.ft. facility on 2 April, and expects the unit to be operational by October.
Production will involve compression moulding of components for the oil & gas, food & drink, pharmaceutical and engine-manufacturing industries. Clean room facilities at the plant will support the manufacture of parts for the semiconductor applications.
In keeping with PPE’s operating model, the factory will have its own tool making, extrusion and inspection facilities, a company statement added.
"We strive to develop the most advanced materials for the most difficult applications," said Paul Gillyon, managing director of PPE, who went on to state that the company had an "outstanding" on-time delivery record.
"We will reproduce all of these attributes in our Texas operation. We know that’s what our oil & gas customers need when the pressure is on their projects and we are 100% confident we can provide the necessary support …," Gillyon added.
