Bluestar Silicones proves the doubters wrong
ERJ Staff Report (TP)
Cologne, Germany - Bluestar Silicones said they had the last laugh when their BR2512 filled multi-release agent proved the naysayers wrong.
ERJ spoke with Dr Stefan Breunig, Business Development Manager Industrial Release, at the Tire Technology Expo 2014 (TTE) yesterday.
He said: "Our 2512 has a very high air evacuation performance due to the fact it’s a filled multi release - everybody else says it’s stupid because you use fillers and multi releases - you’re losing resistance.
"Of course, we were able to keep mechanical resistance together with the filled material providing air evacuation performance - even with very durable products.
"We heard from the competition in the factories and heard it through the clients’ side, and the clients found we were right - we’re happy about that."
"We’re the only one to give this to the clients [and] this is unique and sets us apart from the competition.
"Our competitors are not catching up."
The company also had a brand new development to announce at TTE 2014.
Dr Breunig said: "We have a new product which is giving the same level of performance but with complete transparency - it’s the 2430 - and it’s just coming to the market and is all new.
"We’re just doing the first trials and it’s coming out this year. People still want air evacuation performance so we have a new patent we filed at the end of last year for this technology.
"We are atypical for patents in this market as we feel it’s good to have protection for the technology."
