Semperflex to expand hose production
ERJ staff report (RPN)
Vienna, Austria − Semperit AG's Semperflex business is expanding its hose plant in Odry, Czech Republic, to handle a growing sales base, reported Rubber & Plastics News.
More than $13.6m (€10m) will be invested to raise capacity at the plant, the firm said. The investment program is designed to increase production capacity by about 30 percent by the second quarter of 2015.
While Semperflex has been impacted recently by a weaker market environment, the company said, it has profited from strong global growth in the mechanical engineering, construction and mining sectors.
Semperit cited the need to catch up with demand in emerging markets along with infrastructure expansion as two reasons there will continue to be a need for construction and agriculture machinery.
