Germany's '28th International Tyre Fair' opens in May
ERJ staff report (TP)
Essen, Germany − The 28th International Tyre Fair (Reifen 2014) will take place at Messe Essen on 27-30 May.
The show is regarded as a “globally important meeting place” for new tires, vulcanisation, retreading, trading, services, and tire and chassis technology.
Highlights of the event include Bundesverband Reifenhandel und Vulkaniseur-Handwerk e. V. (BRV - "Federal Association of the Tyre Trade and the Vulcanisers' Skilled Trade") presenting results of the study "Specialised Tyre Trade in 2020 − Trucks".
At the opening press conference on 27 May, BRV and Messe Essen will also present the new Profiles 2020 university prize. Students across all subject areas at German universities and technical colleges are being asked to develop ideas for a successful future of the sector.
One question includes: How can the specialised tire trade develop a stronger profile to remain viable for the future? Participation will be possible at www.profile2020.de until 28 February.
The organisers anticipate around 670 exhibitors within a 60,000-square-metre area as well as 19,000 visitors. This year, the new Rubber Tech Europe trade fair will run alongside Reifen for the first time. The organisers are expecting another 120 exhibitors and around 1,000 visitors at this event.
