Lanxess moves test centre to Innovation, Technology group
ERJ staff report (RPN)
Cologne, Germany − Lanxess AG is moving its Polymer Testing Center from its High Performance Elastomers business unit to its Innovation and Technology group function, reported Rubber & Plastics News.
The Innovation and Technology group coordinates all of Lanxess’ research and development activities. The rubber experts at the Leverkusen, Germany-based plant can offer more than the standard measuring of abrasion resistance, shore hardness, viscosity, tensile strength and fabric bonding, according to the company.
The testing centre is based off of its Chempark facility in Leverkusen.
Claus Wrana, the head of the testing centre, said cutting edge rubber formulations are extremely complex, multi-component systems that require a great deal of expertise.
