Sri Lanka prepares for annual ANRPC rubber conference

Colombo – Sri Lanka will host the 6th Annual Rubber Conference of the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) under the patronage of economic development minister Basil Rajapaksa from 8-10 October.
The conference, themed “Sustainable Natural Rubber Economy: Where Do We Stand?” is intended to facilitate “meaningful interaction” and networking among rubber industry players, policy makers, researchers and commodity analysts internationally.
The ANRPC, an inter-governmental organisation, includes 11 countries: Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. Member countries account for about 92 per cent of the global production of natural rubber.
200 private and public sector representatives from Sri Lanka are slated to participate in the conference.
