Natural and silicone rubber conference targets part and tool designers

Aachen – A conference covering the latest developments in rubber materials will be hosted from 14-15 October in Aachen by the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) at RWTH Aachen University. The conference will be held in English.
Titled “Rubber meets Science – Organic and Silicone Rubber Processing”, the conference will cover the two material classes in parallel sessions.
Andreas Limper of Harburg-Freudenberger Maschinenbau will chair the natural rubber stream, and Oliver Franssen of Momentive Performance Materials the silicones stream.
The organiser said: “This international conference is aimed primarily at engineers, chemists and physicists from the rubber industry who work in development, part and tool design, simulation, production planning, process improvement and quality assurance.”
The conference aims to showcase the manufacture of high-performance elastomeric components using novel materials, compounding techniques and processing methods.
Speakers are expected from from Bode, Robert Bosch, B. Braun, Dow Corning, DuPont, Elmet, Freudenberg Forschungsdienste, Hexpol Compounding, HJG Consulting, Hutchinson, IKV, Lanxess, Momentive, Scarabaeus, Sigmasoft and Starlim Spritzguss.
