Pelmar delivers advanced pre-cured tire tread system
ERJ staff report (BC)
Ramat-Hasharon, Israel – In collaboration with Turkey-based Akar Makina, Pelmar Engineering has built and delivered an 11m, 6-daylight, pre-cured tread (PCT) press. Ancillaries include automatic loading and unloading, and hands-free buffing, cementing, weighing and packing modules.
The system is Pelmar’second for one of its leading customers.
The company’s technical manager Eldad Eilam described the PCT production system as one of the most advanced in the world, capable of delivering wide and intricately designed precured treads suitable for any truck tire, with minimum rubber waste.
The delivery is the culmination of over two years’ design and engineering co-operation between Pelmar and Akar Makina.
Pelmar hopes to sell at least two similar PCT systems per annum for the next decade.
