Omsk Carbon Group to build carbon black plant in Belarus

Amherst, Massachusetts – Russian carbon black producer Omsk Carbon Group has announced plans to build a new carbon black plant in Mogilev, Belarus, according to Notch Consulting.
A new company, IOOO Omsk Carbon Mogilev, will manage the plant, which will cost an estimated $130m (€102m) and will come onstream in 2015 with a capacity of 80 000 tonnes, expanding to 150 000 tonnes by 2019.
Employment will total 450 at full capacity. More than half of output will be consumed by OAO Belshina, a tire producer with a major plant in Bobruisk, Belarus, while another 3-5 percent will go to smaller consumers in the domestic market. The remainder will be exported.
