ERJ staff report (BC)
Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA – Two PVC elastomer compounds for jacketing of industrial and heavy-duty cables exhibit flexibility even at very low temperatures and other properties comparable to those of more costly high-performance materials, according to Teknor Apex.
Flexalloy 9611-76 and 9612-75 compounds are said to have brittle points of -60 ºC or lower, and to provide the oil resistance, flame retardance, and wide operating temperature range needed for applications such as control and instrumentation cables, tray cables and special power cords (for instance those for charging electric vehicles).
The new products will be introduced at the Interwire 2013 trade show, Atlanta, Georgia, 23-24 April (Stand 406).
