German auto organisations commend Falken summer tire
ERJ staff report (BC)
Offenbach am Main, Germany – The Gesellschaft für Technische Überwachung (GTÜ) and the Autoclub Europa (ACE) have commended the Falken ZIEX ZE914 Ecorun after a programme of joint tests on 16 summer tires in the 195/65 R15 size.
The tests addressed safety on wet and dry surfaces and fuel economy.
According to the results, the Falken ZIEX ZE914 Ecorun (labelled C for fuel efficiency and B for wet grip) delivered “impressive” results on dry surfaces while providing “superb” driving comfort and fuel economy. The tire received its “recommended” rating by achieving an above-average environmental score at a low price-to-performance ratio.
Markus Bögner, German sales director of Falken Tyre Europe GmbH, said: “Falken changed the composition of the compound in the ZE914 and combined it with a higher silica content; this enabled our engineers to strike the perfect balance between driver safety and fuel efficiency.”
