London - Rubber prices in Tokyo and Singapore fell sharply overnight. On Tokyo's Tocom Exchange, prices for the six-month contract was trading down 10 at just over yen 217 ($2.77) on Wednesday 08 August. Shorter-dated prices were down by about 13 yen at just above yen 206 during Wednesday evening trading.
In Singapore, the February 2013 TSR20 contract on SGX was trading down 14 at $2.63; September 2012 prices also took a hit of 14 cents, to trade around $2.59 during the Wednesday evening session.
In India, NMCE said August prices closed down by one rupee at Rs 177 ($3.21). September prices were also down at just over Rs 172.
In China the Shanghai Futures Exchange contract for August closed down a fraction at Yuan 22.7 ($3.56) per kilo on Wednesday. September prices were also slightly down at yuan 22.6.
