Niche perfume caters for those who like smouldering rubber
ERJ staff report (DS)
Cyberspace - Odd what you find when searching the web for “rubberâ€. Today I found a website which follows niche perfumes - one of which hits you with the smell of smouldering rubber. The website - Perfumeniche.com -- seeks out commercial perfumes which have unusual aromas.
People respond, says the site, to aromas associated with a strong memory often from childhood.
In this case, the site highlights a perfume created by international Jewellery house Bulgari (or Bvlgari), called Black. The site says, “Black smells like no other fragrance, because the first hit smells like smouldering rubber - in a good way.â€
Not strictly rubber, but the smoky smell of Lapsang Souchong tea. Still, it's a fascinating website
