Mitsui Resorcinol explosion committee meets

Iwakuni, Japan - Mitsui Chemicals has set up an accident investigation committee to report on the incident of 22 April. In that incident an explosion at the company's resorcinol plant killed one and injured 21 others.
The company said in a statement, “To ensure that this tragedy will not be repeated, the Company formed an [Accident Investigation Committee] to investigate causes of the accident and develop preventive measures for the future. The Company announced that the Committee held its first meeting at the Iwakuni-Ohtake Works on 1 May.â€
Operations at the resorcinol factory and 25 other plants have been suspended until further notice.
