Cabot says reveunes from carbon black increased in Q2

Boston, Massachusetts - Second quarter fiscal 2012 EBIT in Cabot Corp.'s Rubber Blacks Business increased by $21 million compared to the same quarter of fiscal 2011, principally driven by higher prices and a favorable product mix. Price increases more than offset a 2 percent decline in volumes.
Volumes were up in Japan (11 percent), South America (8 percent) and China (3 percent), but down in SE Asia (-5 percent), North America (-7 percent) and Europe (-11 percent).
For the second quarter of fiscal 2012, net income attributable to Cabot Corporation was $240 million.
