Tessenderlo opens TPE compounding unit in China
ERJ staff report (DS)
Changsu, China - Tessenderlo Group has opened a new TPE compounding unit in Changsu, China. The new plant will produce high-performance, thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) and slush molding compounds for automotive applications. The unit operates under the CTS brand with the name CTS Automotive Compounds (Changsu) Ltd.
The unit will produce Marvyflo and Tefabloc brands, CTS said it has been selling these products successfully in China and Asia for more than 10 years.
Tefabloc is a family of TPE compounds which have a lower density than traditional rubber solutions like EPDM. They are used in airbag covers, sealing applications, cables and interior parts. The company claims the world no 1 position in styrenic TPEs used in automotive glazing seals.
Marvyflo free flowing powder compounds are the reference material for slush molding of dashboards and door panels, as well as other interior surfaces.
