Canadian community holds rubber boot festival
ERJ staff report (DS)
French River, Ontario, Canada - Forget Kate Moss in her designer wellies at Glastonbury; Ontario's French River Cultural Industries Council is holding a festival dedicated to rubber boots.
The site (see link below) advertises dress code for the event as Rubber boots (surely other clothing as well?). There are prizes for the best and worst boots, including a weekend cottage getaway on Manitoulin Island.
The event takes place on 28 April and aims to bring together the different cultural traditions in the French River and Nipissing areas: Metis, First Nations, Francophone and Anglophone.
