Tianjin, China -- Tokai Rubber Industries has held an opening ceremony for a mould production joint venture in Tianjin, China.
The company said that it is opening the plant in China in order to improve the price competitiveness of anti-vibration rubber for cars, and also to increase orders around the world.
Tokai said in a 16 March news release that some Yen 260 million (€2.4 million) has been invested in the company. Tokai owns 50 percent of the venture, METECS and Sakae Tsu both own 25 percent of the company.
The 3300 sq.m site is expected to employ about 74 people by fiscal 2015.
