Setzer outlines growth plans for Conti's tyre operations

Geneva, Switzerland - Head of Continental's Tire division, Nikolai Setzer has outlined plans for “strong growth, particularly in BRIC countriesâ€
In a presentation at the Geneva motor show he said, “Approximately €300 - €500 million will be invested annually in the expansion of the existing plants, enabling Continental to exploit growth potential around the world. In 2011, the Tire division sold approximately 122 million passenger and light truck tyres and 7 million commercial vehicle tyres worldwide.â€
The company said a third of all passenger cars in Europe and one in six in the USA now roll off the production line with Continental tyres.
