Wacker signs Spanish compounder

Zumaia, Spain - Wacker is deepening its ties with Siliconas Silam S.A., a silicones compounder in Spain. The two companies recently signed an agreement under which Siliconas Silam may sell ready-to-use products made from Wacker silicone rubber base under its own label and bearing the supplemental slogan “Based on Elastosilâ€. Customers include the automotive, construction, cable and household-goods industries.
Siliconas Silam, based in Zumaia (Basque Country), has been compounding and marketing Wacker products in the region for more than a decade. Founded in 1964, the company is among the leading processors of high-temperature-vulcanising (HTV) silicones in Europe, and numbers the household-goods, automotive, electrical, construction and cable industries among its customers.
