Russia firm Tatneft showcases tyre making facilities

Almetyevsk, Russia - Russia petrochemical company Tatneft-Neftekhim recently arranged a presentation of its OAO Tatneft tyre manufacturing facilities and Kama scientific and technical centre as part of an event to mark the International Year of Chemistry.
Tatneft said that as of today the Nizhnekamsk tyre manufacturing facilities of OAO Tatneft are “a dynamically developing and socially-oriented complex focusing on yielding the products of highly competitiveness.†The company has invested more than $1 billion (Euro 742 million) in its development over the last decade.
There have been successfully implemented projects of radial passenger car tyres production under the new Kama Euro brand; construction of a new rubber mixing line; reconstruction of the factory's mass tyres assembling lines and machinery equipment of ZAO Tatneft Yarpolimermash; as well as modernisation of the production facilities of OAO Nizhnekamsktekhuglerod.
Tatneft said in a 17 Nov news release that the largest investment project in the last few years has been the construction of the Nizhnekamsk solid steel cord design tire factory and its commissioning in 2009.
Currently, the tyre manufacturing facilities of Tatneft produce more than 150 tyre types and models: passenger cars, agricultural, truck and light truck tires, as well as solid steel cord tires under a unique German technology of Continental Co.
The products are exported to 37 countries, Tatneft said, and the international quality management system ISO 9001 has been introduced at all enterprises of the complex. The company also said that environmental responsibility is a key part of Tatneft's ethos.
